I have a problem. It's one that you might share. In fact, half of the world may be with me on this one.
And it has to do with good intentions. And an optimistic view of my ability to wake up in the morning.
You see I have this plan that each day during the week I will wake myself at 5:00 AM. To write and otherwise work on the computer. I truly believe that each day should start with this plan. And each day my plan begins perfectly as the alarm sings out a hip song to sweep me out of my slumber, raise me out from under the sheets and gently guide me to the desk.
Sounds nice. But it doesn't always happen.
Often what happens is that I wake my wife once. Twice. Three times. As I hit that sweet slumber button.
Unfair to her and inefficient for me. Even when I wake up at 5:00 on the first whistle, it often still wakes her. And she doesn't sleep well as it is.
So I had an idea the other day.
One that doesn't seem that difficult to invent and would solve two problems for me.
- It would not wake my wife.
- It would allow me the ability to wake up without the blaring sound of Fleetwood Mac. I like Fleetwood Mac, mind you. Just not at 5:00 AM.
Here's the idea. I set the alarm as usual. That part doesn't change. But my alarm clock now has a cool added feature.
. . . a fancy wristband.
And inside that wristband is a fancy little wireless transmitter. And a small vibrating motor.
To wake only me. Allowing my wife to sleep in peace. Even when I gently squeeze the wristband to allow for 10 minutes more slumber.
This would really be a great new idea. But my wife would like it even more than I.
Would you invent it for me? I would be grateful.
Forever grateful.
By the way, the e-book is almost done. I promise. Just reviewed the last draft on Friday. :-)
