Kurt Vonnegut died at the age of 84 on April 12, 2007.
He wrote stunning novels (my pick - Slaughterhouse Five) and short stories. While today has no particular link to his life or death, a few quotes from him brushed up against my sleeve as I re-read the journal that I wrote during my 2007 job search.
There are three to share:
"We are what we imagine ourselves to be."
"I always say to people, practice an art, no matter how well or badly (you do it) because then you have the experience of becoming, and it makes your soul grow."
"I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can't see from the center."
This last quote is a powerful one and reminds me of other quotes that inspire the first early steps in entrepreneurship (i.e. that the bridge will form with each step one takes away from safety).
I've seen and felt some of this as I've pursued this blog. I look forward to what is to come . . .
